TeXShell is a set of macros offering a full environment where you can work within. This version for VM/CMS tries to create a similar en- vironment of TeXShell for MSDOS. Using TeXShell you'll save time because you can print, compose and issue a preview from a single screen. There are three special jobs: (1) Pressing PF2 key under TeXSHELL environment you'll get a menu with TeX/LaTeX commands. Pressing the respective PF-key, the command will be placed on the cursor position. This set of macros was written by Freilich Oded (P84021 at BARILVM.BITNET), Bar-Ilan University. (2) A scheme to deal with errors using TEXLOG file: under LOGVIEW environment, pressing PF4 key will carry you exactly where the error was found by TeX. PF5 key does the same but to LaTeX warnings. (3) A case sensitive HELP. When you put the cursor on a word and press PF1 you'll get a LaTeX help. The help source is from George Greenwa- de. The default configuration of TeXShell is to our system (BRFUEM). I guess you'll not find troubles in configure it to your system. Change the files: PREVIEW.XEDIT, PRINTTEX.XEDIT and TEXSHELL.CONFIG. I intend to put ''configuration menus'' in the next version and to improve the on line help| It's right that TeXShell for VM/CMS has a lot of bugs but I think putting it to cyberspace is the best way to remove them!
