Version 3.1.3 of the GNU HP-GL converter "hp2xx" is now available for anonymous ftp from clio.rz.uni-duesseldorf.de [134.99.128.3] in the file ./hp2xx/hp2xx-3.1.3.tar.gz GNU hp2xx reads HP-GL files, decomposes all drawing commands into elementary vectors, and converts them into a variety of vector and raster output formats. It is also a HP-GL previewer. Currently supported are: Vector formats: Encapsulated PostScript Uniplex RGIP Metafont, and various special TeX-related formats Simplified HP-GL (line drawing only), for imports Raster formats: IMG, PBM, PCX, HP-PCL (including Deskjet & DJ5xxC support) Previewers: UNIX: X11, OS/2: PM & Full-screen, DOS: (S)VGA & HGC, ATARI, AMIGA, VAX: UIS Version 3.1.3 contains fixes and various new features (most of which have been available as "fixes" during the last weeks), in particular: * New formats: o hgc Monochrome Hercules graphics for previewing now supported o rgip Uniplex RGIP vector format o hpgl Simplified HP-GL output, useful for later imports * HP-PLC format: o Compression added in Deskjet modes o Debugged * EPS format: o BoundingBox corrected for pen width * HP-GL commands: o EA (rectangle): new; LT (line type) , LB/PR: debugged * Hp2xx options: o --version added to conform to GNU o -P n:m (page range) improved * OS specifics: o VAX-VMS: Improved support; previewer corrected o OS/2: Full-screen preview added; PM preview adapted to emx 0.8g o OS/2: Simple yet nasty bug removed: Binary outputs now ok! o UNIX: Better support when in pipe mode For details, see file ./hp2xx/changes Please note that the ftp server "clio" is overloaded -- don't try to access it directly except at off-office hours (18:00 - 08:00 GMT+1), or better: *** Wait until the hp2xx files are copied *** to the major GNU distribution sites -- Thanks !
