Installation: ============= The TeXSetup.exe program should autorun on your system, provided you have not already installed the TeXLive 5 software. Should it be the case, you will need to run TeXSetup.exe by hand (cf. documentation live.pdf), possibly with appropriate options to overwrite your previous setup. Another solution is to remove the following key : \\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\TeX Users Group in the registry. This key prevents TeXSetup.exe to run every time the cdrom is inserted. Before installing the software, I strongly recommend that you upgrade some core files of your system. TeXSetup won't do this for you anymore! However, consider reading : http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q259/4/03.ASP before doing anything ! Vcredist.exe is a self-extracting executable file that installs the latest version of the Microsoft Visual C++ run-time files and operating system components that are required by most projects created with Visual C++ 6.0. These files include fixes that are included with Visual Studio 6.0 Service Pack 4 (SP4). The English language version of this file is included with the cdrom in /setupw32/VC6RedistSetup.exe VC6RedistSetup.exe will present you with an End User License Agreement. When you accept the agreement, a single file, Vcredist.exe, is extracted. Then, the file vcredist.exe will be extracted at the location of your choice. Run it, and it will upgrade some of your core files if needed. Fabrice Popineau email: Fabrice.Popineau@supelec.fr
