$ITI: README,v 1.4 1995/11/17 12:01:31 schrod Exp $ ------------------------------------------------------------ This distribution features the document class `tdsguide' that's used to tag and format the TeX Directory Structure (TDS) document. DISTRIBUTION INFO Besides the actual document class, a revision of the TDS is part of the distribution. This revision is in *no* way a current one, it's just there to test tdsguide.cls. Please refer to CTAN:/tex-archive/tds/standard/ to get the most current TDS revision. This is not a complete distribution, you need a bunch of other styles. I have stored a version of the needed styles in the directory styles/, you must not redistribute them. Please refer to the `dist::' section of Makefile, it gives hints where these styles are on CTAN. The directory scripts/ contains Unix shell scripts that are used to create the stand-alone TDS document. Again, the files are for your information & curiosity, this distribution is not intended to be used by newbies; the TDS is readily available in several formats. Of course, if you can make use of them -- more power to you. USAGE INFO The actual usage info is in the comments in the macro file tdsguide.cls. We don't need more as we developed it for ourselves. One thing is worth mentioning nevertheless: If a file tdsguide.cfg is found in TeX's input file search path, it is read in. It should contain code that configures the TDS macros, e.g., by issuing \ExecuteOptions macros. E.g., you can specify the option `nomflogo', to get a TDS document with `MetaFont' and `Metapost' typeset in Roman, in case you don't have current logo fonts. (Of course, better to get and install them. :-) AVAILABILITY These macros are available from CTAN, directory /tex-archive/tds/misc/, and from ftp://ftp.th-darmstadt.de/pub/tex/TDS/misc/. Their usage for typesetting a TDS document is supported, send bug reports and patches. Their usage for other documents is discouraged, these are custom-designed macros that won't work in all arbitrary circumstances. Don't expect any help from me for this case.
